Re: Organizational Announcements

Since 2001, Jim Jack, Team RFC’s Director of Field Ministry has been serving as the Southwest Regional Director on top of his already full-time job. Jim, ministering with his wife Linda, had an immediate, and positive, impact on regional operations: growth in every area.  Not only has the region grown from 9 to 36 chaplains, but Team RFC’s nationwide staff has grown from fewer than 75 chaplains in 2001 to more than 250 today.  The field ministry director’s role has grown exponentially, too.

In 2007, Jim selected Steve Hanson to serve as the assistant regional director to help manage the growth in the Southwest. Now it is time to make some additional changes in order to re-align the administrative workload. To that end, Jim Jack and Steve Hanson have switched the regional director and assistant regional director roles.  hanson

We understand that if the word “change” goes out without context, you may rightfully ask, “What will this mean to us?”

Little will change in terms of their personal chaplaincy ministry for Jim, Linda, and Steve.  The Jacks will still serve as the primary chaplains for Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events in the region.  Steve will still focus on off-road and rockcrawling events.  Jim Jack will continue as field ministry director with his national focus while supporting Steve Hanson and the transition of administrative leadership in the Southwest.

Steve Hanson has been approved by the board of directors as a deputized fundraiser.  That is an IRS requirement to enable him to begin raising personal support.  Yes, Steve has stepped out in faith as a missionary and is relying on others for his income.  I invite you to pray for Steve in this step—both for wisdom and for a solid support base.  I also invite you to receive Steve’s personal newsletter, and maybe consider becoming a donor to help undergfoutzird the Southwest Region Director.
