The Salvation We Have Today Is Free
Salvation is free to you,
but it did not come cheap. It came at great expense to God. He gave His
precious Son to be slaughtered for the sins of all mankind. It was His best
gift. Jesus became the "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world"
(Revelation 13:8). He left His rightful place in Heaven to endure such a
death just for us.
He gave His life for yours.
He took the curse of all of our sins to
the cross.
He did this so we would inherit the
promise(Gal.3:13-14).
He paid the price for our sins, anxiety
and sickness (Isaiah 53:5).
He paid the price for us to come out of
spiritual, financial and physical poverty and become rich in all things. (2
Corinthians 8-9).
When we lead someone to
Christ, we will show the nature of Christ by making His Word our priority.
We soon see the love for us and how He wants the best for our lives. So, be
honorable and treat Christ with love and respect. Don't abuse His goodness
and grace by using His forgiveness as an excuse to keep on sinning (Romans
6).
Don't feel that this
transition comes overnight. Take it day by day and be faithful with what you
know. Soon you will feel so confident in your new faith that you'll be
telling everyone how "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten
Son, that whatsoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting
life" (John 3:16).
