Jesus is God’s Son, He Can Do Anything

The title of this devotion comes from a song I learned this summer while teaching 2 year olds – Kindergarten age children in Vacation Bible School this summer. The song is simple, but very powerful.

  Jesus is God’s son, He can do anything

  That is why I worship Him, that’s why I sing

  I’m praising, I’m thanking God for His son, Jesus

The implications of this song remind me of the hope that I have in Christ and this is the hope that the world needs to know. Some people need to know this hope and be fearful. Some people need to know of this hope to experience healing, comfort, and peace of mind.

The scriptures teach us that Jesus is Creator (Genesis 1 and John 1), Jesus is Healer (The 4 Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), and Jesus is Redeemer and Ruler (Revelation 19). Spend some time today meditating on the scriptures and allow the Holy Spirit to remind you that Jesus is God’s son and that He can do anything. This will lead you to pure praise and worship of the King. The problems of this world will be seen in a different light - no matter what they may be. Here’s hope-

  Romans 5:1-5  “Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulations produce perseverance, and perseverance produces character, and character hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

Let us offer this hope to all we come into contact with today and everyday!
