At Team RFC we have more than 16,000 families on our mailing list, no doubt representing more than 35,000 individual people. Obviously, it is impossible for us to personally know each one of those people, but we have a strong love for each of these people even if we don't know some as well as others. The reason this is possible is because of the One who lives in us: Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Even people we don't know need a smile, a kind word, a helping hand. Have you ever noticed in the gospels how Jesus drew people to Himself? Note this the next time you read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
This season let us make a commitment to draw closer to God so we can draw closer to those around us, as we give away the love of God that He has so graciously given to us.
Romans 5:5 says ... “because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.”
The Greek tells us that the phrase “shed abroad” means to be poured forth to gush out. So His love is poured forth in us to “gush out” to others. We have in us the love that God is. Let’s make a strong effort to bless people with it every day of our lives.
