God's Waiting Room:
"...blessed are they that wait for Him"
Isaiah 30:18
No one enjoys waiting. Whether it be in traffic, at the airport, or in the doctor's office--waiting is rarely
thought of as being good for anything. Even though we ultimately arrive at our destination, fly to another
part of the world and get help for our physical ills, waiting often results in many things that are beneficial
to us.
Isaiah had learned through experience that, "blessed are all they that wait for Him." We would do well
to learn the same lesson and be as patient as Isaiah. There are many valuable lessons to be learned
from waiting for God's response to our needs and requests. God is never in a hurry as He desires to
accomplish His will in our life.
When sitting in the waiting room of a doctor's office, do we become excited about the fact that we will
soon have a remedy for what ails us. If we do, then the wait seems of little importance as we know that
it is a part of the process. What about God's waiting room? As we stand on His promises, does He not
motivate us to keep trusting Him? Are we not inspired to press on in spite of our present pain as we
wait for our personal Divine Physician to attend to us. As God brings about His will in out life and
answers our prayers, He will give us the confidence that our waiting will always be fruitful.
While in God's waiting room, yield to His methods and learn what character-building lessons He has
for you. Ask God to reveal his purposes to you. God will not allow you to gather the fruit until it is ripe
because He knows exactly when we are spiritually ready to receive the blessings He has for us. Be joyful
as you wait. Grow in your faith-based ability to see God in everything and realize the importance of
seemingly insignificant situations you may be placed in. Your circumstances may very well be
God-inspired and love-driven.
Faith is believing what we do not yet see. God's reward for this kind of faith is for us to see what
we have believed for.
