The Invitation

Each and every church service at my church (Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Burbank, IL) ends with the verse below, and every week I can’t help but walk out with a smile on my face and comfort in my heart:

May the LORD Bless you and Keep you

May the LORD make His Face to shine upon you and be Gracious unto you

May the LORD lift up His Countenance upon you and give you Peace.  (Numbers 6:24)

Take a minute to read that again…

Is that not the most supporting passage?  How could you not go out feeling good knowing that you have the Lord‘s blessing?  The year is almost over and I hope this verse brings you reassurance in wrapping up 2005 and going into 2006.

If you would like to hear it in person, you are always welcome to come by for a service.  If by chance you’re not on the southwest side of Chicago, I’m sure any of the churches in your area would love to have you there as well.  If it’s been a while since you’ve been to one, consider this an invitation to go this Sunday.
