God May Have You Right Where He Wants You

As I think about what the title says, I realize this should be thought provoking. As my mind went down a few rabbit trails, I decided to start asking myself some significant questions.

Shouldn’t we be doing our best every day, whether at work or at play? Lend a hand where needed? Encourage those around us? Live by the golden rule, “doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.” And possibly, giving some spiritual guidance when needed too?

All of us are called to be Ministers, or Counselors of the Word—but some of us in God’s design are also support people. Those of us who are not necessarily in leadership roles, but like to help in the background, be a good listener, at times an encourager, perhaps just be a willing worker. God has equipped each of us with certain talents and some times we just need to develop them and use them to help others around us. As we grow and learn God will direct our path.

We are all teachers—or role models—of some sort whether being a parent, employer or employee, or a well know figure in the public’s eye. After all, our children learn from what they see us do during their life, good or bad, and how we handle difficult situations.

As far as role models go, if you have been fortunate enough to be recognized by the public, people have a tendency to look up to you and admire you for your accomplishments. Therefore, be known for something first-class—your character and integrity—not poor choices.

What it all comes down to is we all have a purpose right where God has placed us in life. By our own free-will choices, we will end up where our choices lead. No one said life was easy, and if it were, we probably wouldn’t appreciate the journey. Even during difficult times and circumstances we are able to learn from the experience.

Therefore, remember what the Apostle Paul told the Corinthians, “Run in such a way to get the prize.” Run to win!
