What Does The Lord Require??

Micah 6:8, NIV -- "He has showed you, O man, what is good.  And what does the LORD require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

What a high standard this verse calls us to.  It's a powerful verse.  It's a verse that can almost make us tremble in our boots -- to act fairly, to be merciful, to walk with humility with the God of the universe?  Wow -- that's something that is going to make us think -- about our attitudes, our words, our choices, our very character.

But that's the excitement of the Christian journey.  When we take up our cross as followers of Christ, we are submitting -- both actively and passively -- to the process of being fashioned into Christ's likeness.  We will become someone we have not been before; a someone who reflects the light, love, and grace of a God who wants us to be in right relationship with Him and with one another. 

So let's jump in and work with God to be made into new people, people who share God's love with one another in meaningful, tangible, life-changing ways.  Can you think of anything more exciting?
