It seems that every year we lose some of our friends one way or another. Some pass on doing what they loved and others succumb to illness or an accident. All are greatly missed whether they were well known or not. Each meant the world to us.
Recently at a race I was asked if those who had passed on could see the race or what was going on. My answer was yes, but it really doesn’t matter what we think on eternal matters only, what God has to say. According to His Word the answer is yes also. If you would let me share with you just one passage of scripture it’s Hebrews 12:1 From the Living Bible.
“Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.”
In the chapter just before this are the stories of many of the best known men and women of faith in the Bible. They had all passed on some centuries before. Yet from what we read, they are filling the grandstands watching us race now. So yes, they can see us. That only leaves us one course of action.
Put aside anything that will hinder you, not only in your race but life as well. And since God has set before us this great sport of Drag Racing, let us race for the Glory of God. Remember that our friends are watching and cheering us on. Do your best out there.
