Break Through the Wall
How many times have you been doing great,
moving along with no problems? You're running the race set before you,
moving full speed ahead, with God's blessings overtaking you at every
step. Then all of a sudden, wham, you hit a wall or a snag in your
plan. It may be a wall of sickness, or financial trouble, of spiritual
failure, or family problems. Regardless of the form it takes, the
effect of "the wall" is always the same.
However, our Bible says that “I
can do all things through Christ who strengthens
me.”
(Philippians 4:13)
I used this scripture at
a children’s church camp a few years ago. I had just shown the kids
part of the film, “And They Walked Away.” Each one of them was amazed
at the many crashes and how these drivers walked away from near death
experiences. I asked them who would like to become a driver one day,
and drive a top fuel car or boat. Hands went up all over the room with
kids yelling, “Yes, I would.” Well, there were around 250 kids. I
gave them each a card that had Philippians 4:13 on it and told them
that nothing is impossible with God; you just have to trust in Him and
yourself. Of course I think they were more excited about the John
Force poster they received than the scripture card. But still, this
scripture is true and will not return void, as the Bible says, in these
kids’ lives…and yours.
I'm not going to tell you it's easy. The
truth is that it's tough. But you have to
push on through the tough times if you're ever going to have a
breakthrough. I heard a good saying once: “Press through until a
breakthrough.”
The devil would like nothing more than for
you to quit. He would have won the victory if Jesus would have quit on
the cross and called “legions of Angels to save Him.” But He didn’t,
praise God. He endured until the end for each one of us. Through His
death and resurrection we have victory. We can conquer anything
through Jesus.
So in short, if you’re going along and come
to a “wall,” don’t stop. There is a blessing waiting on the other
side. All you need to do is keep pressing on, keep trusting God in all
you do. Remember, God is big enough to get you through life’s
difficult situations. He will always return you back to His Word.
When you feel the worst, when failure is breathing down your neck,
press into the Word as never before. All the answers are in His Word.
