That was the question Jesus was asked by Pilate at His trial. It seems America is in a quandary over what truth is and has forgotten its foundation. The dictionary defines truth as "the quality of being in accordance with experience, facts, or reality; conformity with fact; agreement with a standard, rule; correctness, accuracy."
In racing we operate under such truth. The mechanical side of our sport allows great faith in engineering facts. We live in strong confidence of the technology of the vehicles we race. We use a precise liquid that explodes when ignited under pressure. At the precise time of this ignition we know it will push a metal piston in a precise cylinder that turns a crankshaft that turns a gear that turns a wheel that will push 300+ lbs at over 100 m.p.h. We also have a standard of truth called rules dictated by W.K.A. Most karting series operate under these rules for the sake of unity and because of years of experience in establishing them.
If an individual, out of rebellion, decides to break these rules, like running illegal fuel in a race, he will be disqualified. If unintentionally, after pre-tech, a person changes something to make his vehicle unsafe, it could result in the injury to himself or someone else at the track. If someone receives bad advice on how to improve engine performance, we'd call it false teaching, no matter how sincere - it just won't work. It would be accurate to say that we have all done these things. We are guilty and have probably suffered the consequences. Truth wins out. To the rebel, the unintentional, or the sincerely wrong person, in regards to God's law, is a sinner. Jesus fulfilled the law in everyway, yet He went to the cross, guilty, for us. Transfer your guilt to Him and be set free.
In the last article I asked the question, "Do you believe in absolute moral truth and do you believe that truth is found in the Bible?" Here are a couple of consequences to how we live in that truth. 1) "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." [Proverbs 14:12] 2) "Blessed is the man who does not walk in counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord ... he is like a tree planted by streams of water ... yields its fruit in season ... whatever he does prospers." [Psalm 1] I would answer Pilate's question, "Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. I will walk with Him, listen to Him, and live in Him." How about you?
