How do you sow?
"Remember
this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows
generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has
decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God
loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so
that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in
every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-8,
NIV
Not only is it
important where we sow and what we sow, but it’s also important how we sow.
It is a very simple truth; you reap in proportion to your sowing. So are you
generous?
God loves a cheerful
giver. What makes someone cheerful? Maybe it is giving? What do you think –
is giving the result of cheerfulness or is cheerfulness the result of giving?
This kind of giddy giving can only happen if someone is carefree. How can
someone be so carefree in sowing? It only happens when someone is confident
of the supply of seed. Notice God will make all grace abound, at all times,
so that you can abound at all times. This sounds pretty extensive to me.
So sow with reckless,
joyful abandonment because God has recklessly and wonderfully provided and He
will continue to provide you with the seed to sow.
