Is Being Blessed a Blessing?

Some days I have but one simple prayer, “Lord, save me from my Blessings!” 

 I am very blessed, as I pray all of you are too.  I am blessed with a house, a wonderful wife, 2 terrific sons, and a ’69 Daytona!  But all of these blessings are hard work.  The yard needs to be mowed or the snow needs to be cleared.  The cars are always behind on oil changes and other maintenance.  I want to spend as much time as possible with my family; but there are dirty dishes, and laundry, and the house is a disaster, and not to mention my job.  It can all get pretty overwhelming sometimes. 

 But it only takes a quick read of the Bible story of Job, or a story on the evening news about someone who has it much worse than I do, to make me appreciate all that God is doing for me!  It starts by Him sending Jesus to take away all of my sins…imagine if I was carrying that burden as well! 

So after I get my head back on straight, I say a different prayer:  “Lord, thank you for all of my blessings and please help me to use them all for your Glory.”  Amen!
