“There’s a Sunshine”

Matthew 13:43 “Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.”

Team RFC is very fortunate to be located in the Valley of the Sun, the greater Phoenix area. Most people love the sunshine, and I know we sure do. The bright sun gives light to the entire world so that we’re able to see and survive as it gives our world life sustaining warmth, and providing mankind with much needed Vitamin D. The sun is faithful, as it lights up our way every day without fail. Without this magnificent burning star, we would be doomed to darkness and death in no time.

With summer approaching, it brings to mind outdoor fun with family and friends. Warm weather. Soft breezes. Wearing a short sleeve shirt and shorts, perhaps trying on a new swimming suit, and after splashing on some sunscreen, we’re ready to play in the sun.

Racing, Rodding, and sunshine belong together, too. When you’re at an event, a warm sunny day is just what the doctor ordered. The sun feels good, the people look happy, and the photographers love it. The shinning chrome and beautiful paint schemes on an old model A, a drag boat, or a racecar look exceptional as they shimmer and sparkle in the bright light of the sun. Whether in the pits, a parking lot, or screaming down the track, righteous looking vehicles are a sight to behold in the sunlight.

The Bible tells us that God’s beauty is revealed in His creation for all to see. The sunshine brings out the best in the birds and the bees, and the flowers and the trees. Creation says, we love the sun, we need the sun, and without it, we would be no more.

Just as the plant life needs the sun to survive, humans need the “Son” to survive too. This “Son” should shine brightly in and through our lives daily. This “Sonshine” should expose us as beautiful blossoms budding on a branch, beckoning a barrage of broadcasting … in our attitudes, within our heart felt love, through the shine in our eyes, a bright smile, and should be contagious enough that someone else just may just catch it.

Those who have received and believed in Christ, the “Son of God,” should stand bright in contrast to those who have yet to make the choice to follow the “Son.” If you have never felt the “Son” in your heart, you can do it today: “Ask and you shall receive.” Remember, whoever you are, wherever you are, “He who has ears,” there’s a Sonshine, to be seen and felt!
