Extreme Makeover 

It seems that all of our televisions are being overrun with makeover shows. They started out by trading spaces and then went into your home while you were out.  That was followed by family and kid's versions what could they do next.  Now, with "extreme makeovers," they don't just make the place over, they tear it down and build from the ground up in just a few days.

It was not enough to just do houses; they started making over people themselves!  Although, on these shows, they can't tear the people down to nothing and raise them up again.  Only God can do that.  He promises that he will in His word:  "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:40)

You see, each of these shows deal with the outward appearance.  And each of us wants to look good on the outside.  But more important is how we are on the inside.  "For the Lord does not see as man sees: for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7) Then the only question that remains is, “How is your heart?”  For only the Lord can make us pure on the inside.

Now, back to those TV shows…can you believe that they have one that even enters the sanctuary of a man's garage and make's it over into anything but a garage?  Talk about sacrilege!
