Excuse me! Do you have change?
Not everyone enjoys change. Yet things in life are constantly changing. This is especially true when it is race day.
We can’t control many of the things that are changing. Yet because of our human nature we continue attempting to do so.
Something to keep in mind is that someone is always watching our reaction to any situation. This is true when something goes wrong in the racing pits, the garage, at home, at the store…wherever we go! So we need to pause, take a deep breath, and consider our response.
Our first response during trying times, and how we should respond, are often two different things. Be mindful that God is always with us; He sees and hears all. We should also consider that what we may say or do can affect other people. Consider the child peering into your pit, your crewmembers, your family, or your friends at work or school. They may be looking to you for guidance. Yes, it is good to pause, take that deep breath, and choose our response wisely.
First, we are to enjoy what we have in life, for our Provider knows our needs before we ask. Second, we are to treat others fairly as we would want them to treat us. And third, but not at all the least, let’s remember to have a safe, fun, and enjoyable racing season. Let us all work together to make this year one to remember. See you at the races!
