This is the title of a book by Hal Lindsay in the 1970’s, but it just as well could be written today. Case in point: at a recent show that Claire and I attended we were walking around talking to people when we came in contact with a couple of Hell’s Angels. I stopped and looked at some of the books that they had for sale when, all of a sudden, there was this feeling that something evil was behind me. It was a weird feeling of fear, not unlike when I was a little kid and had to go get something from the basement, the light wasn’t working, and I just knew that some vampire or werewolf was waiting for down there.
I turned around and saw that the whole side of the building was full of Hell’s Angels from every chapter on the east cost. And of course I thought this feeling I had was coming from them. It wasn’t till later, as I talked with some of them, that I realized it was not. One began to stop Claire from taking a picture. However, when she said that all she wanted was a picture of me with him for our scrapbook, he realized that I was a chaplain, said he could use some good luck, put his arm around me, and we got our picture.
What caused this feeling in the air? Not only had Claire and I felt it, but quite a few others told us they had experienced the same thing.
I read in the Word of God that “Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.” (Eph. 2:2) We need to realize that there is a spiritual war going on around us as it says in Eph. 6:12 “For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.” So put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil.
Preach the message as God’s ambassadors: THE GOOD NEWS! JESUS IS ALIVE AND WELL!
