Seeing Hidden Potential

How many times have you come across that old car which is so badly rusted that you can hardly see what it used to be?  As you look closer, you can see what a jewel it was in its prime. You think, “What it would be like to bring it back to life once more—how grand that would be!"

You are tempted to purchase and to restore it, but the memories of the last time you restored one this deteriorated flood your mind.  You said you would never, ever, attempt another one that far gone and this one is in worse condition.  Yet it would be so valuable if restored!  But what would it cost in time and money to bring it back to life??

Sometimes lives are like that…just so messed up.  Most people would say it is hopeless, that no one can help them when they reach this point.  Not true—there is one who can! All we must do is be willing.  Read John 4:4-32 in the handbook (Bible) to see that Jesus reached out to people no matter who, what race, or how bad off they were. There is hope for all through the One who really cares, Jesus the restorer of souls!

Some cars may be past the point of no return, but no person with life still in them is hopeless.  Never give up on anyone!
