Friends
This time of year there are a lot of racing banquets and at any of them, when
you look around, you will see the friends of those who are receiving awards.
You will also see friends of the sport; people who are there just because they
love racing and want to support those who do win awards.
It’s
great to have friends both in good times and bad; true friends who are there for
you. One secret to making friends is found in Proverbs 18:24 “A man that hath
friends must show himself friendly.” So if it’s your desire to have true
friends, be friendly to others.
One of
the worst things in life is to have friends that are not there for you, which
are really not friends at all. After all, without friends to be there when you
get awards and such, to share those good times with, what would be the sense of
even getting them.
So if
you are looking for a friend that will stick closer than a brother, one that
loveth at all times, and one with such great love that he would lay down his
life for his friends…then let me introduce you to my friend Jesus. He tells us
in his Word that “If anyone publicly acknowledges me (Jesus) as his friend, I
will openly acknowledge him as my friend before my Father in heaven.” Matthew
10:32
Is Jesus
your friend?
